Alkaline ionized water in general

Does alkaline ionized water with a high pH of 13.2 affect the human body? There is almost no effect on the skin. This is because the ingredients are not deleterious substances such as sodium hydroxide, but are 99% water and less than 1% food additive-derived ingredients. The safety of the product has been confirmed by skin patch tests conducted by an external institution.
What is the recommended pH control method? Please add a certain amount of alkaline ionized water on a daily basis to control the pH level, and check it periodically with our pH measuring device “COCO-pH”.
Does it affect the facilities? Basically, no. No domestic equipment manufacturer has ever had any problems with sealing materials. Please contact us for details.
Does it affect painting? Basically, no.
If alkaline ionized water mist is inhaled, will it affect the human body? There are cases where alkaline ionized water is used in humidifiers, and there is no particular problem if a small amount is inhaled. If you feel any discomfort or irritation, drink a large amount of water and consult a doctor. However, if the mist contains coolant, be careful not to inhale it, as it may be affected by that coolant.
Is alkaline ionized water to be used with existing cutting fluid? Yes, it is. It can be used in conjunction with existing cutting fluids. Coolant can be blended in the following two ways (1) Your cutting fluid + water for dilution (tap water, etc.) + alkaline ionized water (2) Our cutting fluid (Cooltech Cut CO-300) + water for dilution (tap water, etc.) + alkaline ionized water
Are there any points to keep in mind when using it on machine tools? (1) Sealing materials: Although there have been no major problems with sealing materials over the past several years of use in machine tools in Japan, the following precautions should be taken. If urethane rubber or fluorine rubber is used for rubber sealing materials such as О-rings, there is a concern about deterioration of the sealing material. Otherwise, alkaline ionized water will not cause any problems. (See the following data).
Generic Name ASTM Abbreviation Resistance of high pH Alkali
Ethylene-propylene rubber EPTR/EPDM
Epichlorohydrin rubber
Epichlorohydrin rubber
CO,ECO
Chlorosulfonated polyethylene CSM
Chloroprene rubber CR
Silicone rubber Q
Butyl rubber IIR
Isoprene rubber (synthetic natural rubber) IR
Styrene rubber SBR
Natural rubber NR
Nitrile rubber NBR
Butadiene rubber BR
Acrylic rubber ACM/ANM
Polysulfide rubber T
Urethane rubber U ×
Fluorine rubber FKM ×
Are there any points to keep in mind when using it on machine tools?(2) Seals for tables and sliding surfaces: Although there have been no major problems in the past several years of use on domestic machine tools, the following precautions should be taken. If the seal is clogged with oil or other contaminants, the cleaning power of alkaline ionized water may remove the oil or other contaminants, resulting in poor sealing performance. In this case, the seal can be replaced.
Are there any points to keep in mind when using it on machine tools? (3) Sensors: Although there have been no major problems in the past several years of use on domestic machine tools, the following precautions should be taken. If the touch sensor or proximity switch inside the machine tool is not waterproof, there is a possibility of flooding. In such cases, we recommend that you change to waterproof specifications.
How can I check the affinity (compatibility) of cutting fluid and alkaline ionized water? If you provide us with cutting fluid in use and scrap aluminum or brass material, we will check the affinity (compatibility) and make a proposal.
Can it be used for nonferrous metals such as aluminum and copper? Yes, it is possible. Please contact us for details.
Can it be used for resins? There is no problem with most resins, but there are some resins that are inferior in alkali resistance. Please contact us for details.
Does alkaline ionized water have rust-preventing effects? And how long does it take to become effective? Alkaline ionized water is said to suppress oxidation of ferrous metals by producing a thin, oxygen-impermeable, dense iron oxide on the surface, which is expected to have a rust-preventive effect. Some customers have obtained a rust-preventive effect for about one week after a few seconds of soaking (Material:SCr). However, if water droplets and dust that induce rust are not removed properly, rust is likely to start there. Since the effect varies depending on the material, it is recommended to check in advance.
How long can the quality of alkaline ionized water be maintained? When exposed to air, the pH level will drop by about 1 in 5 days. However, if stored in a sealed tank, etc., the pH will not drop as easily. (The pH can be maintained even after 2 years in a Baron box.)
Why does the pH of cutting fluid sometimes not increase even if alkaline ionized water is added to the cutting fluid? This is due to the function of cutting fluid called the “buffer effect of cutting fluid” which adjusts the pH so that it does not move significantly even if additives, etc. are added. The degree of buffering depends on the type of cutting fluid. Some types of cutting fluid may react with alkaline ionized water to produce a cloudy scum, and the use of alkaline ionized water for such cutting fluid should be avoided. As a preliminary service for introduction consideration, we will check the pH buffering effect and the presence of cloudiness.
Can alkaline ionized water be used in the ultrasonic cleaning method? Ultrasonic cleaning is considered effective because it has the effect of physically peeling off oils and fats from the surface by dissolving them with alkaline ionized water.
Does the combination of a fine bubble generator and alkaline ionized water improve the cleaning effect? There is data that shows a synergistic effect in the cleaning process. Please contact us for details.
Can I purchase alkaline ionized water alone? Yes, it is possible. Prices vary depending on the commercial distribution, so please contact us by contact form or phone.
What is the difference between alkaline ionized water and alkaline electrolyzed water? They mean the same thing.
What is the difference between super alkaline ionized water, strongly alkaline ionized water, and high pH alkaline ionized water? If the first two refer to high pH alkaline ionized water, they mean the same thing. COOL TECH’s high pH alkaline ionized water generator can produce high pH alkaline ionized water with a pH of 13.2.

How should I dispose of wastewater? If the alkaline ionized water itself is to be disposed of, it must be adjusted to the pH level specified by the local government. In that case, it can be easily adjusted by adding citric acid. However, if the water contains oil, it must be separated or otherwise treated.
Is there any possibility that alkaline ionized water cannot be generated depending on the water used? Yes, there is. Yes, but it is possible to counteract this problem by using a filter. 【Factors that prevent generation and countermeasures】(1) High water hardness ⇒ Can be solved by increasing the number of water softening filters. (2) Too many impurities in the water ⇒ Can be solved by adding a pre-filter.
Is there a specific outdoor temperature at which the alkaline ionized water generator can be used? Please use at temperatures below 40℃.
Is there a problem with hydrogen and carbon dioxide emissions during alkaline ionized water generation? No problem, as the amount of emissions is very small.
